Dungbeetle River Lodge is nestled right on the bank of the Sundays River. The Sundays River offers safe swimming for many kilometers up or down river and for a reasonable fee we will offer you a back up boat to ensure that you are always coping.
The River Mile swimming race is held every year on this river and starts right in front of the Dung Beetle River Lodge. Over 1000 swimmers, including international swimmers participate in the event.
The beautiful Alexandria Sand Dunes opposite the Dungbeetle River Lodge offer many kilometers of sand jogging that can help strengthen your muscles and train you for the distance running leg of the triathlon. They are the longest widest coastal sand dunes
in the southern hemisphere.
Village roads also make for many circuits of running on firm ground and cross country running routes can be organised.
Cycling around the village or mountain biking is also possible.
