For those who just want to relax and enjoy animals and more animals, this is for you. Enjoy a 5 hour drive around the scenic Addo Elephant Park, mainly to find herds of Elephant, Buffalo, antelope, zebra and more.
Addo Elephant National Park was opened in 1931 and has over 600 elephants. The park has the largest herd of disease free buffalos in South Africa. There are many other varieties of animals. It is one of the only big 7 parks in the world. The tour starts at Dung Beetle River Lodge. The qualified guide will hope to find you herds of elephant and any other animals that they may be able to scout out for you. The National Park is beautiful scenically, and different from other National Parks in South Africa. Return to the Lodge and self drive to Schotia and commence with the afternoon / evening drive through the private game reserve in an open vehicle. This private game reserve was started in 1982 and is the oldest private game reserve in the Cape Province. Between Addo Elephant National Park and this private game reserve, you will see as many different animals as your time will allow. Free hunting lion, white rhino, giraffe, ostrich, monkeys, aardwolf, aardvark, elephant and buffalo plus a typical South African meal in an open plan Boma. Comfort to you will be of importance throughout this tour.
First Half

14.45 check in at the Private Game Reserve to sign indemnity.
15.00 commence with guided game drive.
16.30 toilet stop/refreshments.
16.45 the most exciting part of the tour begins, i.e. looking for lions, hippo and nocturnal animals.
19.00 return to the lapa and warm up around the open fire. Enjoy a scrumptious dinner.
20.45 your return to the head office includes a short night drive as far as the gate to the reserve.

We recommend you to do the half day Addo Elephant National Park tour from Dungbeetle River Lodge and join the afternoon evening tour to the private national park. You will then just have to go in your own transport to the private park (20 minutes away) and not be given lunch. Much more economical than this full day Tour.
